Chocolate Bronzer!

Bronzer is a must have beauty item, not only does it give the face warmth and colour it also helps to contour the face and make it more defined. I have tried and tested many bronzer's from many different brands - high street and high end products. Over all  I think this has got to be my all time favourite it's a bargain at £7.99 available at Boots & Superdrug it also lasts a long time, this is my second purchase of the bronzing powder and I had my other one for well over a year. I use this to define my cheek bones, it gives your skin a nice glow and sun-kissed look without making it look grubby or murky like some cheaper bronzer's do. This Bronzer smells absolutely gorgeous and is ideal for all you chocoholics out there ;)
Bourjois do offer really good quality products at high street prices and if you haven't tried this already it's definitely one to purchase!

Are you a fan of Bourjois and is there any other products you would recommend to try from this brand?

BaByliss Thermo-Ceramic Rollers Review

BaByliss Thermo-Ceramic Rollers 3035BU

I have owned these heated rollers for quite a few years, I was given them as a gift and at the time I was completely obsessed with straightening my hair completely flat with my once loved GHD's. Having naturally curly/frizzy hair I envied people who had lovely smooth hair that stayed flat all day long. Due to the stage I was in I wasn't that interested in the rollers, however a couple of years on I've decided to experiment with the rollers again as I now enjoy having a more voluptuous hair styles.
The heated rollers come in a kit that contains 20 heat ceramic-flocked rollers (the rollers are protected with a felt which prevents damage to your hair and also gives your hair a lovely shine). The kit also comes with mental pins and some great big clips that can be seen on the photo below. These clips are fantastic and really do help your hair to stay put whilst your hair sets into place. After trying these out I would agree with exactly what the description of the products tell you
"Thermo Ceramic Rollers are perfect for achieving this season's lush, glamorous looks."

You can buy these heated, ceramic rollers at many stores that stock BaByliss products or they are on sale from £30.00 to £24.00 in Debennams, these can be found at http://www.debenhams.com/

(Please excuse the makeup free face, I did this look at night when I was totally make up-less
I really hope you have found this review helpful, let me know of any hints or tips that you have for creating voluminousness curls for this years festive season

Drug Store Hair Products Haul

The weather is freezing and I've had two early mornings, with 6am starts, so here I am on a Saturday night chilling in bed as I have no energy to do anything else, but I thought that It was a good excuse to post a mini haul post :)
Last week I picked up some hair care products from my local boots, there was an offer on VO5 hair styling products they are usually around £3.99 each but I managed to get 2 for £5 which is a bargain.
I got the new VO5 dry back combing spray and some super shine Hairspray.
I also picked up a TreSemme Split Remedy Hair Mask (I swear by hair masks!) I usually use Aveda Damage Remedy, but thought this would be a good one to try at a cheaper price. The last thing I got was a large bottle of Batiste for £2.99 which is usually £3.99 so this was also on offer. I got the Batiste for dark hair as it stops me getting the white marks like I do with the original formula, I have a red hair colour but the one for Dark hair avoids me getting any pinkish colour powder in my roots.
Have any of you got any Drug Store hair care products to recommend?

Purple Smokey Eyes

We are now in the festive season and one of the colour trends is that lovely dark, aubergine purple there are many dresses, shoes, bags and other accessories in this colour on the high street and for the Christmas party's it always nice to do some eye make up that compliments your chosen colour of outfit, this eye make up is also suitable to go with black dressers or maybe even silver.
To create this look I used the limited edition palette from 17 at Boots to create this look, the palette was from last years collection but I am sure they  have one out similar this year that you could buy, the eye shadows are fantastic quality and are very pigmented for the money! They are perfect for a smokey eye look as the colour's blend so easily for a seamless look. You do not have to be a professional to create these looks they are very easy to create and just require a little practice. I didn't follow the instructions on the lid of the palette as I think it is sometimes easier to create your own colour blend, however the instructions are very useful if you are unsure where to start.

This is the final look! (these photo's are taken on my sister as I found that it would be easier to take photographs of someone else. However this is my own work)

Is there any requested eye make up looks you would like me to do a blog post/tutorial on?

Mini Random 'Owl' Haul

Just Browsing in town and I came across this little friend, at the moment I have found myself falling in love with owl merchandise. I even own an Owl all-in-one suit! But there i was browsing in my local New Look and came across this cute looking little trinket box in the shape of an owl, there's a few different variations but I thought the original grey colour with the pink love hearts was absolutely gorgeous and I thought it would be fantastic to keep things in. It will also look cute in my room, this owl trinket box was a bargain at £2.99 and I am tempted to buy the other ones in the collection.

Here's a preview of myself in my Owl 'Onsie' bought from Primark for around £12.

Anyone else completely fallen in love with Owl's this Winter? :)

What has Clinique 3 Step done for me?

I have been using Clinique's 3 Step System for the last 3 months and decided that it is about time that I made a blog post on what the skin care has done for me and whether I think it is worth the money and the hype.
I had a skin consultation to find out which skin type I was, for anyone who's come across the Clinique 3 Step before you will know that there are 4 different types depending on your skin type. I was told that I was skin type number 3 which is - Combination/Oily.
Which meant the Step would be the Liquid Facial Soap for Oily skin, Clarifying Lotion 3 and Dramatically different moisturising gel.

So I purchased the products and began using them in the first week I couldn't see a difference and if anything I felt that even though my skin seemed softer but actually appeared worse as I broke out quite a lot. However I told myself it was just the purging stage and carried on using the products day and night. After one month of using the products I would never look back.
My skin felt:

  • Smoother
  • Pores looked reduced
  • Oiliness was reduced
  • Break outs were reduced
  • More Radiant
The biggest difference I have noticed from using these products is how less prominent my pores have become as this was quite a problem for me. I think my next purchase I will make is on the pore correction serum as this will be even more effective in conjunction with the Basic 3 Step. These products are all Dermatology developed, Allergy tested and Fragrance free. They are something that you need to keep using to see the benefits, as with most 3 Step skin care regimes they are quite hard  to stick to, but I find 3 minutes morning and night is all you need and is soooo worth the outcome!

Sleek Haul!

Today I went to another Superdrug in a different town that stocks Sleek make-up. I have seen so much in the blogging world about these products and decided to give them a try. I purchased 3 products to begin with:
  • Blush by 3 - Blush Palette in the shade PUMPKIN 363 (£9.99)
  • Face Contour Kit in shade Medium (£6.49)
  • Eau la la Liner (waterproof and smudge proof) shade WHITE NOISE 318 (£4.99)

When I got home I swatched all the products as there wasn't any testers in the store, my first opinion on the products are how highly pigmented they are the  liner looks to be brilliant quality!
I just cannot wait to try these products out properly! I haven't really experimented with white eye liner and with the products being on 3 for the price of 2 I thought it was a good reason to try it out as I find black eye liner sometimes makes my eyes look a bit to heavy.
Another thing to mention is the packaging the blusher and counter powders and in very good quality compacts with handy mirrors. I am very impressed the contour kit also comes with step-by-step instructions. The price of the Sleek range is very reasonable and with the 3 for 2 offer I managed to get the eyeliner worth £4.99 Free :)
Once I have done a make-up look with these products I will post a picture up for you all to see how the products look when used on the face,
(sorry that the photographs have pixcelated above)
Has anyone got any recommendations of any other Sleek products to try?

Insane Love for Candles!

Now that we are fully experiencing winter and the dark, cold nights.. I have began to enjoy burning candles to relax in the evenings. Today I purchased a new one to add to my lovely collection, this was the Yankee Candle in the fragrance (Cherries On Snow) I absolutely love this scent especially for the winter time!
I got the medium size candle which is usually £16.99 from most retailers but with about 60 hours burning time with will last me ages!

You can purchase the full range of lovely quality and fragranced Yankee Candles here at www.yankeecandle.co.uk (this is the official retailer beware that there are lots of fakes on the Internet which will not be the same quality)
Hope you enjoyed seeing this little update on winter time candles, pop into your nearest Yankee Candles supplier and definitely smell this scent! It is so sweet and warming

MAC Lipstick Dupe

I was searching through my lipstick collections of many different brands, I have a lot of pink lipsticks in all different light and dark shades. I realised that I had found a drugstore brand that is virtually the same colour as the well known MAC - Girl About Town
The Dupe is available from most Boots & Superdrugs here in the UK. Anywhere that has a Revlon make up stand and the shade is REVLON COLOURBURST LIPSICK - 030 - Fuchsia
The pigmentation is just as good as the MAC lipstick and the lasting power is actually better than the MAC lipstick and I am a well known MAC obsessive, so finding that there is a cheaper version of a nice dark pink is always good to know. photograph below is me wearing the Revlon lipstick (sorry quality is rubbish as it was taken on my Iphone front screen camera)

Brilliant Little Bargains

Just a few bits I picked up on a little shopping trip. I paid a visit to the store Matalan, which i never usually go to but there was loads of things that interested me. I was about to buy a peplum top, but they didn't have my size :( But instead I picked up this gorgeous glittery envelope clutch bag! For a bargainous £4. I think this is a goregous party accessory, colourful enough to jazz up any outfit..

Another thing I am going to mention in this blog post is a brilliant little wonder tool from Primark. That is a saviour for people who love back combing! This comb allows your to do it without splitting your hair and it also has a sectioning on the other end, PERFECT! Also this groovy pink comb was a bargainous £1.

Perfect Powder

I've never been a fan of powders, they either make my skin look to 'cakey', or too dried up. I've always been a fan of having a dewy, glow on my skin as I find my skin without make up is the opposite to this and is very dull. I had been recommended to use a powder as it helps the stay power of your make up and having a combination skin I was told to try
Clinique - Superbalanced powder makeup SPF 15
My first impressions of this makeup was really good the design was brilliant, very hygienic and grated of the amount of powder you needed each time you used the product. However the first time I tried it was over the top of a liquid foundation and this looked terrible on my skin It made all my imperfections stand out and made me feel embarrassed about my skin especially around my nose area. I mentioned this to one of my friends who said "noooo!" you definitely don't need a liquid under this powder just apply it after you've moisturised! So i did!
I am very happy with it and the coverage is perfect the powder is much quicker to apply than a liquid foundation, so it is perfect for early mornings. Ever since discovering this, it is the first thing I go for on college days and the compact is easy to carry around and to touch up without needing to carry a whole make up kit & brushes around with you. The main reason being the anti-bacterial brush that is included in the compact.
This retails at £27.50 from all clinique counters where you will be advised on the right shade for you. Anyone like me who isn't keen on the concept of just wearing a powder, I would give this a try as I'm almost sure it will convert you as it has done with me,

I hope this post has been helpful, if there is any questions ask below.. Thank you for reading!

Motivation..

Why am I feeling so tired? I've literally had a free day today and have so many jobs to do... I go back to being hectically busy next week, all I've done is lounge around all day feeling lethargic and weary.
I'm seeing my friends this evening and I seriously need to chirp up.
Anyway I thought seen as I haven't shifted myself away from  my laptop I would post something on here and be a bit more inspired. Instead of peering out the window at the awful rain and feeling freezing (winter's well and truly on it's way)
On to a brighter note these are my recently purchased Converse.. my first ever pair and they are extremely comfortable to wear, but unfortunately not appropriate for this wet weather. I bought these from office on sale, they are usually £42.99

Another 1st time buy! That I've seen plastered around on many beauty blogs is the 1 second - nail polish remover by Boujois.. This is amazing! It does exactly what it says on the tins and is a much easier and mess free way to remove nail polish.. I am actually thrilled with this product! Acetone free, nourishing for the nails and it smells divine - Red fruits and Vanilla mmmmmmmm..

Thanks for reading, comments will be much appreciated :)

Back to college preparations

This will be my 3rd year of trying to achieve my Level 3 qualifications to apply to University. Being a year behind means all my good friends are moving away to University next month :'( This is a really emotional time for me as the past 4 years of my life have all been aimed at being able to get in to study at University. However this final year at college I am going to give it my best shot! This post is to show what stationary goodies I have got my hands on to help motivate/organise me to help me achieve the best I can in this last year at college.
This arch leaver file (£1.74), A4 notebook (£2.22), A5 notebook (£1.88) are all from Tesco. The designs are beautiful and very 'British' I also purchased some file dividers, A4 paper and plastic wallets.. All for a bargain price!

Everything seems to be happening at the moment. I've got a job interview tomorrow for a part time job on a Clinique counter. I have also been allocated some work experience next weekend at my local hospital, everything seems to be happening at once but its super exciting!

KIKO Cosmetics

On my Summer holiday to Portugal I visited a shopping centre - Aqua Portimao
I was very impressed with this shopping centre and found many shops I hadn't heard of before. One of which was the cosmetic store - KIKO COSMETICS
Walking into this store amazed me there was a lot of colour and variety which kind of reminded my of one of my favourite cosmetic brand MAC. So straight away i was entrigued, I began looking at the products and special offers and couldn't believe how cheap it was for the pigmentation of the products, I could have gone crazy! However I decided just to choose a couple of things as I'd never tried the brand before. I knew that I could order more online if I needed.
From testing out these two products I purchased I will definitely be buying more!
I am amazed! The pigmentation of both the Nail vanish and the Lipstick are fantastic.

In Love!

No. 7 available in Boots have quite recently joined the BB cream hype! I purchased the garnier one as soon as it was launched and thought it was fabulous with light coverage but a bit too oily for my particular skin type.
However I decided to give a BB cream a second chance with having a £5 of voucher for No. 7 their 'Beautiful Skin' skin care range has had many good reviews and with them having a BB cream specifically for Normal/Oily skin I thought It sounded like some thing to have a go with. I am so glad i did! I have worn this product every day for the past 4 weeks. It is AMAZING! It is quick to apply and offers me the right amount of colour and coverage I got it in Medium as Light would be to pale for the summer months. If your looking for an affordable BB cream this is fantastic!
 £12.95 for 40ml.
No. 7 are constantly having special offers so keep look out!

Hooked!

I started reading the first book of the trilogy - Fifty Shades Of Grey
I know you've probably all heard the hype on these books and I didn't think it would be a particular interest of mine, however passing through tesco's and realising they were on special offer (2 for £7) I thought it was definitely worth seeing what the fuss was about.
Anyway I have well and truly been pulled into the Fifty Shades 'cult'. After only being reading the first erotic novel for one week I have nearly finished and have purchased the last one of the trilogy today. For anyone who has not yet started reading the Trilogy by E L James. They are highly recommended and a rather enjoyable read ;)

At home hair dye/ acrylic nails

Today has been a bit of a pamper day :) I spent the morning at the dentist and had my teeth polished, I then went on the sun bed which isn't something I usually do but have starting doing in preparation for my holiday in June. After that I decided to do acrylic nails on my sister which is something I haven't done for a while and I am a bit out of practise :/ My sister has blonde hair and her roots were coming through so we used LIVE XXL - Absolute Platinum OOA, to do dye her roots blonde.
However this did not go to plan and her hair ended up looking patchy so I had to take a late night trip to Tesco and purchase a John Freida Foam hair dye to try and tone down the brassy/white hair colour she had been left with. I will post the results to show you what the final result is :) (I'm hoping it is going to good)
XXL RESULTS:

The next step :)

Hope this blog post is a help to anyone who is going blonde at home and I shall let you all know how the medium ash blonde works in conjuction with the bleach blonde hair
